Love Story: A Dental CompanyCathy Arcieri was surprised to see the cashier at the nearby 7-11 walk through the door of her office today. So this was Ray Durano, she thought.
Ray had called in last week for an appointment at the dentist's chair. Cathy now wonders how they were able to agree on an appointment. Although Ray did manage to say what dental company was carrying his dental coverage, his was a thick Spanish accent.
Ray was surprised to see Cathy. She's been going in and out of 7-11. She had stopped smiling at him after her first and last smile, when he didn't smile back. Ray wants to tell her now that she's the reason why he now has a dental company.
Crooked and yellow, Ray's teeth definitely need the help of a dental company, like this dentist's clinic. But this was going to be an awkward moment for Ray, and he was already sweating when he sat at the waiting area, sitting across Cathy.
Cathy was minding some papers, but was making an effort to twist her pen with her fingers. Then there was the ritual pregnant silence. Ray broke the moment thinking of his dental company - the safe choice of topic for now.
"What dental company is this?," he asked.
Cathy looked up and smiled an outline of a smile. "This is the dental company of Dr. Sue Meiers."
